Before you buy.
Will it work in free Google Sheets?
Yes. File > Import > Upload > choose the file > Replace spreadsheet. Every formula was written to run in Google Sheets as well as Excel — no XLOOKUP, no LAMBDA, no add-ons and no subscription.
Why can't I type in some cells?
Those are formulas, locked so a stray paste cannot quietly break the math. There is no password. Review > Unprotect Sheet in Excel, or Data > Protected sheets and ranges in Google Sheets, opens the whole thing if you want to change something.
Can I track more than one client in this file?
Don't. Save a copy per client and name the file after them. The number this workbook exists to produce is a per-client hourly rate, and blending two clients into one log makes that number meaningless.
What counts as an hour?
Time you could have sold to somebody else. Writing, editing, calls, reporting, the drive if you bill for it. Thinking about them in the shower does not count. If you would resent doing it for free, log it.
Should I log the work I don't charge for?
Yes — that is the point. Log it and set 'Counts against retainer' to No. It stays out of the hour budget and stays in the total hours, which is what makes the effective rate honest. Agencies rarely die from underpricing; they die from unlogged favours.
Does it work in free Google Sheets?
Yes. Every workbook is built with an older, universal formula vocabulary so it imports into free Google Sheets without add-ons, and it opens in Excel as well. You get both in one purchase.
